Rio Tinto Kennecott Bingham Canyon Mine Visitor Experience
A self-guided visit to an overlook above the active Bingham Canyon Mine pit, reached by a shuttle from the parking area that runs every 30 minutes. At the overlook, two levels of exhibits explain how the mine works and how ore is refined into copper, and large equipment such as a haul truck bed and motor sits on display. Tickets are limited and many days sell out, so book online first; proceeds go to the Kennecott Charitable Foundation.
