Capitol Reef Visitor Center Museum
Capitol Reef's main visitor center sits below the cliffs called The Castle, with exhibits on the park's human history, plants and animals, and the Waterpocket Fold, a wrinkle in the earth almost 100 miles long. The building is a 1964 to 1965 Mission 66 design by Cecil Doty, and the park also offers a film and a bookstore. The Gifford House Store and Museum in Fruita opens seasonally nearby.
