McQuarrie Memorial Pioneer Museum
The Daughters of Utah Pioneers run this downtown St. George museum, which is packed with objects and stories from Washington County's early settlers, among them a leather sidesaddle that belonged to Mary Ann Woodward. Volunteers give guided tours if you ask, and on the third weekend of the month local historians talk about topics like the Old Spanish Trail. It is free and easy to fit around a day in town.
