Maynard Dixon Legacy Museum (Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts)
The painter Maynard Dixon and his wife, the artist Edith Hamlin, lived and worked on this property along old Highway 89, and the Thunderbird Foundation has restored their home and studio. You can walk the grounds yourself or book a docent tour, then stop in the gallery. The foundation is upfront that this is a living history site and most paintings on view are reproductions, so come for the place itself and the story of how it was saved.
