Fairview Museum of History and Art
A free museum campus in Fairview whose centerpiece is Spirit, a Columbian mammoth skeleton about 15,000 years old dug up in 1988 at Huntington Reservoir, 18 miles east of town. The Heritage Building, Fairview's 1900 elementary school, later served as sculptor Avard Fairbanks's workshop and still holds many of his original plasters, works by woodcarver Lindon Graham and hundreds of pioneer artifacts. The Horizon Building, finished in 1995, adds the Theodore Milton Wassmer art collection, Clark Bronson's wildlife sculpture and painting, and natural history and Native American exhibits.
